About Richardson, TX
Settlers first arrived in Richardson in the 1840s. After the Civil War, the village's center shifted northwest a bit, closer to the newly built railroad. The city was charged in 1873, and in 1908 the Texas Electric Railway connected it with surrounding areas of Denison, Waco, Corsicana, and Dallas. The population then was around 600 people, though the area has grown significantly by then. A part of this is due to the Red Brick Road being completed in 1924.
By the next year, the town was incorporated. Now, the city is home to around 100,000 people.
